BREAKING CHAINS THROUGH EVERY SEASON

At Healing With Her, we offer faith-based support for men facing life’s challenges—grief, trauma, addiction, transitions, and more. No matter the season, you’re not alone. We’re here to walk with you toward healing and hope.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Individual therapy is a one-on-one, confidential space where you work with a licensed therapist to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. It helps you better understand yourself, heal from past wounds, develop coping skills, and move toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.

YOU MAY BENEFIT FROM THERAPY IF YOU EXPERIENCE:

  • Young men struggling to adjust after incarceration
  • Individuals dealing with trauma, grief, or loss
  • Anyone battling anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem

Therapy Interventions

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Sometimes the hardest battles are the ones we fight in our own minds—battles with negative thoughts, stress, anger, anxiety, and self-doubt. These thoughts often lie, telling you that you’re not enough, that no one cares, or that real change isn’t possible.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps you identify those lies, challenge them, and replace them with truth. As your thoughts begin to shift, your emotions become more manageable. You stop reacting from pain and start responding with clarity and purpose.

CBT empowers you to renew your mind, regain control, and begin seeing yourself through God’s eyes—not defined by your past, but by who you’re becoming.

Trauma-focused CBT

This isn’t just talk therapy—it’s about rebuilding your strength from the inside out. We start with your story and gently work through the pain that’s been holding you back. Trauma-focused CBT helps you understand why certain triggers hit so hard and teaches you how to manage emotions instead of being controlled by them. Whether you've faced incarceration, loss, foster care, or abuse, this approach gets to the root. You can’t change the past, but you can change how it shapes your future. Together, we build resilience, healing, and—when needed—we invite family into the process to support your growth.

Motivational Interviewing

You want to change, but feel stuck? You’re not alone—and you’re not a failure. Motivational interviewing helps uncover what’s holding you back and empowers you to move forward with clarity and confidence. No pressure, no judgment—just space to process, plan, and take steps toward real transformation. This isn’t about perfection. It’s about progress, purpose, and seeing yourself the way God does: strong, capable, and worthy of change.

YOU MAY BENEFIT FROM THERAPY IF YOU EXPERIENCE:

  • Individuals healing from trauma or PTSD
  • Those recovering from substance use or addiction
  • Men navigating identity, purpose, or spiritual disconnection
  • People dealing with anxiety, depression, or emotional overwhelm
  • Clients with a history of incarceration or justice involvement
  • Anyone seeking deeper healing beyond surface-level solutions

Faith-Informed Therapy (Optional & Client-Led)

For many of the young men I work with, faith and spirituality play a powerful role in the healing process. At Healing With Her, I offer the option to integrate faith-based, Christian principles into therapy in a way that’s gentle, respectful, and aligned with your comfort and values.

While my Christian faith is the foundation of my practice, I welcome and honor clients from all backgrounds. If spirituality is meaningful to you—or even if you're just exploring—we can work together to connect your beliefs with practical tools for emotional and spiritual growth. This might include spiritual coping strategies, prayer, or reflecting on purpose and hope.

Faith is never forced—it’s an option, guided entirely by your needs and preferences.

Structural Family Therapy

Family relationships can become strained—especially when trust is broken, roles are unclear, or incarceration has caused separation. Structural Family Therapy helps families reconnect, rebuild trust, and engage in honest conversations that lead to real healing.

This approach isn’t about blame—it’s about shifting family dynamics and creating a healthier way of relating to one another. Whether the challenge is conflict, distance, or feeling misunderstood, we work together to move your family from survival to restoration.

YOU MAY BENEFIT FROM THERAPY IF YOU EXPERIENCE:

  • Families impacted by incarceration or separation
  • Parents and teens struggling with ongoing conflict or communication breakdowns
  • Families experiencing role confusion, power struggles, or lack of structure
  • Blended families navigating transition and adjustment
  • Families facing emotional disconnection, resentment, or trust issues
  • Those seeking to rebuild unity, safety, and mutual support at home

Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar disorder is often misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or overlooked in Black and POC communities due to cultural stigma, limited access to culturally competent care, and the way symptoms can present differently across cultures. These barriers can delay proper diagnosis and effective treatment.

At Healing With Her, I specialize in supporting individuals who have been diagnosed—or are exploring the possibility—of bipolar disorder. I approach this work through both clinical insight and spiritual truth: you are more than a diagnosis.

My goal is to help you understand the condition, strengthen relationships, and feel confident in managing your emotions—using therapeutic tools grounded in compassion and grace. You deserve care that honors your full story, not just your symptoms. Healing is possible, and hope is real.
